Little Applegate Trailhead April 8th Trail Work Party

Bonus maintenance work party on the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail—morels and wild flowers and more!   We need your help keeping this distant segment of the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail in top shape.

This is a make-up work party—we had to cancel an earlier work party due to rain—to help keep the trail clear in 2017

On Saturday, Apirl 8th we will be working from the Little Applegate TH up and over the bypass to Muddy Gulch.  This stretch has among the best wildflower displays the SMDT has to offer, and keen eyes have often spotted morels growing near the trail. Plan on a 4-6 mile roundtrip hike.  Enjoy the satisfaction of keeping this trail open, the good company, and trail snacks and lunch.

Where:  Meet at Buncom, the corner of Little Applegate and Sterling Creek Roads,  at 8:30AM  for a carpool to the Little Applegate TH.  (Detailed driving directions CLICK HERE )

When:  Saturday, April 8th, 2017 8:30AM-1:30PM (includes lunch provided by SUTA)

What:  Trail maintenance on the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail.  We cancel only if heavy rain is forecast.

What to Bring: Wear comfortable hiking or work boots, dress in layers and bring gloves.  Bring water and whatever special snacks you like.  If you have them, please bring loppers, a pruning saw or a tread tool such as a Pulaski, grubber, rake or sturdy shovel.

RSVP:  If you plan to come, please email SUTAoregoncontact@gmail.com so we can plan the work party and food!  Thank you!
