Sterling Mine Ditch February 18th Trail Work Party

We would love your help keeping the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail in top shape for your use in 2017! Our second of three Sterling Mine Ditch trail work parties is scheduled for:

Canceled Event

Saturday, February 18th.

We will be working on the Wolf Gap Access trail and depending upon how much lopping, digging and hand-saw work is needed along the way, we will continue working along the ditch trail itself.    This is one of the most scenic access trails in the Sterling Mine Ditch trail system with fabulous views and gorgeous open meadows.  Plan on a 3-5 miles roundtrip hike.  Great results, great company and plenty of laughter assured.  SUTA will provide home-baked treats and lunch.

Where:  Meet at the Wolf Gap Trailhead.  From Sterling Creek Rd, turn onto the BLM  Armstrong-Deming Road (a small Sterling Mine Ditch Trail sign on Sterling Creek Rd opposite the turn.)  Drive about 200 yards to “T” – turn left and drive uphill about 2 miles past the Deming Trailhead.

(Detailed driving directions download pdf here.)

When:  February 18, 2017 8:30AM-1:30PM (includes lunch)

What:  Trail maintenance on the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail Wolf Gap Access trail

What to Bring: Wear comfortable hiking or work boots, dress in layers and bring gloves.  Bring water and whatever special snacks you like.  If you have them, please bring loppers, a pruning saw or a tread tool such as a Pulaski, grubber, rake or sturdy shovel.

RSVP:  If you plan to come, please email SUTAoregoncontact@gmail.com so we can plan the work party and food!  Thank you!
