Trail Maintenance Work Party – SUNDAY, January 22, 2017

SUNDAY, January 22, 2017  Work Party

We would love your help keeping the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail in top shape for your use in 2017!

Our first of three Sterling Mine Ditch trail work parties is scheduled for Sunday, January 22nd , not Saturday January 21st– please note date change.  Owing to weather uncertainties, we will decide where we will work closer to the work party.  Regardless of where we go, we will take a scenic 4-5 miles roundtrip hike while doing some lopping, digging and hand-saw work. Great results and great company assured.  SUTA will provide home-baked treats and lunch.

Where:  Meet at the corner of Sterling Creek Road and Little Applegate Road – Buncom.  We will carpool to one of the SMDT trailheads  – to be announced.

When:  January 22, 2017, Sunday 8:30AM-1:30PM (includes lunch)

What:  Trail maintenance on the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail

What to Bring: Wear comfortable hiking or work boots, dress in layers and bring gloves.  Bring water and whatever special snacks you like.

If you have them, please bring loppers, a pruning saw or a tread tool such as a Pulaski, grubber, rake or sturdy shovel.

RSVP:  If you plan to come, please email SUTAoregoncontact@gmail.com so we can plan the work party and food!  Thank you!
