Join SUTA on a Sterling Mine Ditch Trail Work Party

Saturday, November 18, 2017

Come join SUTA’s effort to keep the historic Sterling Mine Ditch Trail open for your use – laugh, hike, work and eat!  We will be working on the section between the Bear Gulch Trailhead and where the Wolf Gap Trail meets the SMDT.  The hike will be about three to five miles total depending upon how far we get with our trail work.

Where:  Meet at Buncom, corner of Sterling Creek Rd and Little Applegate Rd at 8:30 AM.  We will carpool/caravan to the Bear Gulch TH on Little Applegate Rd.

When:  Saturday, November 18, 2017  8:30AM-1:30PM (SUTA provides lunch)

What:  Trail maintenance on the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail – cutting/digging out encroaching vegetation and other trail work as needed.  We cancel only if heavy rain is forecast.

What to Bring: Wear comfortable hiking or work boots, dress in layers and bring gloves.  Bring water and whatever special snacks you like.  If you have them, please bring loppers, a pruning saw or a tread tool such as a Pulaski, grubber, rake or sturdy shovel.

RSVP:  If you plan to come, please email SUTAoregoncontact@gmail.com so we can plan the work party and food!  Thank you!
