Our next Trail Work Party is December 9, 2017

Simple Xmas Card 5

Bring in the holiday season with a trail work party on the historic Sterling Mine Ditch Trail – no presents to wrap, just bring your loppers.

We will be working from the end of the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail back towards the Deming Trailhead with a possible side hike up the Grub Gulch Connector Trail for the views.  The roundtrip hike will be about four to five miles.

Where:  Meet at the corner of Sterling Creek Rd and Griffin Lane at 8:30 AM.  We will carpool/caravan to a private parcel to access the trail.

When:  Saturday, December 9, 2017  8:30AM-1:30PM (SUTA provides lunch)

What:  Trail maintenance on the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail – cutting/digging out encroaching vegetation and some tread work as needed.  We cancel only if heavy rain is forecast.

What to Bring: Wear comfortable hiking or work boots, dress in layers and bring gloves.  Bring water and whatever special snacks you like.  If you have them, please bring loppers, a pruning saw or a tread tool such as a Pulaski, grubber, rake or sturdy shovel.

RSVP:  If you plan to come, please email SUTAoregoncontact@gmail.com so we can plan the work party and food!  Thank you!
